Fall in NYC : Fashion on the Runway; Fabulous on the Court

NYC Fall Fashion Week 2013 is off to a Strong start yesterday thanks to the fearlessness of Tanya Taylor.

Bold, bold, bold... Stripes, stripes, stripes... Graphics, graphics, graphics, and still femme. Love, love love!!! Go TT.

And Valentino Red made a strong return to soft, pretty, and oh-so-delicate with a fairy-tale inspired show...

Also with an eye to Spring 2014 is Pantone, who released its top 10 colors yesterday. Leading the way is the jewel-toned "Dazzling Blue".

It's the color of choice for Facebook as well as Citibank's bike sharing offering. My personal favorites are the lighter blue and the classic neutral gray...

Also included are 2 shades each of orange and purple as well as golden yellow, Sand (needs to explanation) & a soft emerald green with the best name of the lot 'Hemlock'...

But today it's US Open Blue I'm seeing... The Ladies' semi-finals are about to begin and it's a watershed moment in sports as 3 of the 4 women— Serena Williams, Li Na, & the Italian Flavia Pennetta—are 30+. Serena is the favorite but she'll likely have to get through the one young 24-year-old gun, Victoria Azarenka to take the title, that is, if she beats China's always fabulous Na. Good luck, Serena.... Oh, and yesterday Venus and Serena renamed their eponymous Doubles Team Veerena on Twitter. I'll take that over Brangelina... Glad the sisters are still having fun!

Another tennis player who is clearly enjoying herself, albeit not on the court, is Maria Sharapova , also in NYC. Rather than a racket she's armed with fierce fashion. It's good to see top professionals with lives off the court...

Happy Friday to you all!
